Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Much of my professional (and non-professional life, as any of my blog readers know) is devoted to evidence-based ways to prevent cancer from occurring and folks from dying from it. I did not incorporate "the Internet" as I focused on the new ACS study.
Is the system broken? Should we invest more in cancer risk reduction? You are spot on, but the American system is not wired that way.
Should we invest more in studying lifestyle and cancer? An emphatic yes.
Thank you for weighing in, sharing your story, and joining me in focusing on lifestyle (including avoiding tobacco, being prudent about alcohol, having a balanced diet, getting adequate sleep, mindfulness, and exercise). Reduce inflammation and reduce chronic disease.
And yes, follow the $.
I look forward to reading more from you and appreciate your stopping by to comment and weigh in.
Warm regards,
Michael
