Putting the mole issue aside, overall breast cancer incidence increases with age. The mole: breast cancer association for pre-menopausal women may be secondary to a common risk factor - estrogen levels. As postmenopausal women have no functioning ovaries (the 95 percent of estrogen factory is down), I am not surprised that there is no link between many moles and post-menopausal breast cancer.
