Of course, I agree. In my "Final Thoughts" section, I tried to frame the issue: The effect size is relatively small. I would conclude that there may be a small association between abnormal HDL cholesterol and dementia, but there is no evidence for this being a therapeutic target. As for the margerine share, a reminder that food studies are notoriously challenging. And that science has a way of humbling all of us. Always.
