No, not easy to say. I simply list risk-reducing maneuvers. When I advise to avoid smoking, there is no implication whatsoever that it is easy to quit. Whatsoever. As someone who sees hundreds of postmenopausal women annually, I am well-aware of the challenges in keeping weight off after menopause.
Interestingly, half my family is in Japan, where they don't have postmenopausal weight gain, on average. Genetics? Lifestyle? Don't know. The Japanese women are the only ones, on average to pull it off worldwide, so I am well-aware of how challenging avoiding post-menopausal weight gain is.
