Excellent observation, Garry. We can’t do much about our inherited genetics (as we await genetic editing, I suppose) and so all we have is our lifestyle and medical interventions. With respect to cardiovascular risk, the Cleveland Clinic offers this: One should consider a calcium scan if you are between ages 40–70 and at increased risk for heart disease but do not have symptoms. People at increased risk include those with the following traits: Family history of heart disease. Past or present smoker. You are above that age range. That said, I cannot speak to your case as an individual, but love that you are optimizing your lifestyle. Thanks for reading the piece, and I wish you all the best.

Warm regards,

Michael
