BRCA mutation rates have not recently changed and apply to a minority of patients with breast cancer. BRCA is just one of many genes that contribute to inherited propensities for breast cancer. I do think that we will all be screened genetically for a host of risk-increasing genes, but the vast majority (85%+) of breast cancer remains sporadic rather than inherited.
