Appreciate the observation (and the opportunity to clarify). To be clear, I consume meat, red and otherwise. I am smiling because I was literally eating a hamburger as I read your spot-on post.

I admit to this sin of omission in the piece, but it was by no means intentional. While per Finnish capita consumption of red meat is declining, it is doing so only slightly. In addition, we Americans consume less than the Finns (57 pounds annually versus 170 (!) for our Finnish friends.
